Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a former physician stands accused of performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
