Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, according to reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family shared in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
