Close to 25,000 Experiencing Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Nearly 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the area, generating wind gusts topping 109km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Residents reported large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that various areas across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams deployed to handle the widespread outages.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 residents in Victoria also experienced power outages after Melbourne experienced its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations handled nearly 600 requests for assistance across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Wyndham region - nearly 180 help reports
During the peak on the previous day, over 28,000 power users in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both states.
Safety Concern
Health officials cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
